A coloring page for every animal fan

Many children have a favorite animal long before they have a favorite color. It might be the cat next door, the cows from a farm visit or a whale from a picture book. Seven topics in one place make it easy to follow whatever your child loves this week.

Pets and Farm animals show the animals children meet in real life. Wild animals and Forest animals bring in the ones they know from books, zoos and walks in the woods. Ocean dives under the water, Bugs crawls into the grass and Dinosaurs brings friendly babies from long ago. Whatever the topic, every animal has a kind face.

Each topic has pages at two levels. Very simple pages show one animal with very few details, for children of 2 and 3. Simple pages add a few small extras for children of 4 and 5. Age is only a guide, so let your child choose the animal first and the level second.

Ideas while you color

  • Where does it live?

Ask where the animal lives: in a house, on a farm, in the forest or in the sea. Younger children can answer by pointing.

  • Move like the animal

Waddle, hop, stomp or swim around the table between colors. A short wiggle can help busy children settle back down.

  • Big and tiny

Compare animals from different topics: a dinosaur and a bug, a cow and a kitten. Which one is bigger?

  • Build an animal wall

Hang each finished animal next to the last one. Many children enjoy watching the collection grow.

Questions parents ask

Which animal pages are best for a 2-year-old?

Start with a page marked Very simple from Pets or Farm animals. Many 2-year-olds already know these animals, and each page shows one of them with big, open shapes.

How do we choose a topic?

Follow your child's interest. After a trip to a farm, try Farm animals. If bath time is a favorite, try Ocean. Or scroll down and let your child point at one.

Are the wild animals and dinosaurs scary?

No. They are friendly characters with soft eyes and round shapes. The bugs look cheerful too, even for children who are unsure about real insects.

Can I print several animal pages?

Yes. Each drawing prints on its own A4 sheet, so open the ones you want and print them one after another. They're all free and need no account.
