Start with these

Simple pages have the most shapes in our collection, like ladders, hoses, manes and clouds.

For younger brothers and sisters

Very simple pages work well for a younger sibling coloring at the same table.

What helps a 5-year-old enjoy coloring

Many 5-year-olds color with care. They choose colors on purpose, try to stay near the lines and like to finish a page. Pages with a few more parts give them that good feeling of a job well done.

Our simple pages are made for this stage. They keep the thick outlines and calm, friendly characters, and add a few extra shapes to fill. The wide empty space around each drawing invites children to draw their own background.

Our pages are made for ages 2 to 5, so some 5-year-olds will want more detail than we offer today. Adding patterns and backgrounds is a good way to make a page their own.

Tips for coloring with a 5-year-old

  • Plan the colors

Ask your child to pick a color for each part before starting. Planning ahead is a fun challenge at this age.

  • Draw a background

A sky, a road, a garden: the white space around the character is there to be filled.

  • Write a name

Writing their name or a short word on the page is good practice, and it makes the page feel finished.

  • Color side by side

Color the same page next to a sibling or a parent, then compare. Every version will look different.

Questions parents ask

Which coloring pages are best for a 5-year-old?

Pages marked Simple, like the smiling fire truck or the unicorn on a cloud. They have the most shapes to fill in our collection.

Are the pages too simple for a 5-year-old?

They might be for some children. Our pages are made for ages 2 to 5, with thick lines and big areas. Older children can add patterns, backgrounds and their own characters.

Can a younger sibling color the same page?

Yes. Every page works across a range of ages, so siblings can color the same drawing, each in their own way.
